March 31, 2011 - Day 4

It's ballet day!!!  I snapped a few while the girls were at class.  Again, indoor strange lighting. Fun all of the same.  It was a precious morning and the last thing I wanted to do was spend a ton of time fiddling with the camera.

March 30, 2011 - Day 3

Picture taking pre-coffee.....never took a picture of myself like this before. Changed to B+W because the wall color where I was funny. No amount of white balance was going to help.

March 29, 2011 - Day 2

House pics of kids on the blog site. Grown up are ok, if they allow me to post their pics.  I spent a long time taking pictures of kids today and fiddling with settings on the camera. Today was really different from yesterday.....I spent a lot of time in strange light. Bright outside, dark inside the restaurant. I played with a lot of settings and didn't make a lot of headway. Need to really figure out the on board flash.....don't like it and need to find out some info on a "real" flash unit. I felt like I was blinding the little ones and couldn't see them when it was off. So I went to a still

Monday, March 28, 2011 - Day 1

I sat up in bed last night after about an hour of dozing in and out of sleep. I told myself that IF I want to get better at photography, then I had to make it happen. Was I willing to put in the work and what was really necessary to become better?  I take about a million photos now (ask my husband and daughter) and I like many of them. But, how could I go beyond taking snapshots and actually get to know more about photography?

I've taken photography classes with the county and at the local community college. I learned a lot through the home work and the field trips.  I also went to a photography class geared towards moms the other day. It was fabulous. Real and applicable to my life, which is hectic.

The photographer mentioned her 365 project and how it helped her.  She mentioned how it wasn't easy and how she had quit once part of the way through. After listening to her and pondering it for a while, I have decided to make the jump.  365 project here I come.

Blogging world....I expect you to hold me to this.
